Making Strides Against Breast Cancer OKC 5K Walk
October 17 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am
The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K walk raises awareness and funds to assist in providing innovative research, free information and support, and to help people reduce breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable. Come together with survivors, caregivers, men and women from all walks of life to celebrate your shared efforts, inspire each other to carry on, and take comfort in the knowledge that because of your dedication, no one walks alone.
The event is completely free to the public, but the American Cancer Society does encourage people to participate in teams of 10 with a goal of raising $100 per person. All funds raised go back to the mission of the American Cancer Society and its fight against breast cancer – which is to fund research for a cure, cancer prevention and awareness campaigns as well as free services for those directly affected by cancer – such as the Road to Recovery program, which offers free rides to and from chemotherapy/radiation sessions.
