Introducing The Lindy
If you’ve noticed the new buildings going up on the south side of the district, that’s The Lindy, a new apartment community that will bring 199 additional apartments to Wheeler. As the neighborhood continues to grow, projects like this help add more housing while keeping the same focus on walkability, shared spaces, and staying connected to what makes Wheeler feel like Wheeler.
The Lindy includes two buildings: a smaller 36-unit walk-up and a five-story midrise with 163 apartments. Together they offer a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans. Like other newer projects in the district, the goal was to create spaces that feel modern but still fit naturally into the neighborhood.
Residents will have access to shared amenities like a pool, fitness room, lounge areas, co-working space, and outdoor gathering spots — simple, comfortable spaces that make daily life in the neighborhood easy.
Phase I is now open, and the second phase is expected to be ready in Spring 2026.

Why the Name “The Lindy”
If the name sounds aviation-inspired, that’s on purpose. The Lindy is a nod to the early days of flight, which ties back to the history of this area and the old Downtown Airpark that once sat where Wheeler is today.
The name comes from the nickname “Lady Lindy,” which was given to Amelia Earhart during the early days of aviation. It felt like a good fit for a neighborhood that’s always been about trying new ideas, building something different, and not taking itself too seriously.
Like a lot of things in Wheeler, the name has a little bit of history behind it, but it still feels modern.
Another Piece of the Neighborhood Coming Together
One of the things that makes Wheeler special is that it keeps growing without losing the feeling that drew people here in the first place. Adding more homes means more neighbors, more people walking to the park, more people at the Farmers Market, and more life in the district overall.
Living here means you can walk to events, run into friends at the brewery, grab dinner down the street, or end up at the Ferris Wheel on a random weeknight. From the Farmers Market in the summer to concerts, holiday events, and all the little gatherings in between, there’s usually something going on and that’s exactly what this project was built to be part of.
The Lindy is just another step in the same direction Wheeler has been heading from the start — adding new places to live while keeping the neighborhood close-knit, active, and a little different than anywhere else in OKC.
